Predictions
Predictions provides a solid foundation in science skills and philosophy
including measurement, probability and the distinction between facts, opinions and theories. In Chapter 1, students develop a statement based on evidence, to analyze a magician’s claim. Principles include: atomic particles, nucleus of atoms, radioactive particles and radioactive decay. In Chapter 2, students learn about Newton’s Laws of Motion comparing illusions to motion in everyday life. In Chapter 3, students evaluate the scientific merit of funding proposals that include presentations on Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation.
