WHAT DO YOU THINK?
In 1995, only 14% of speed-related traffic deaths happened on interstate highways. Imagine you are driving at the speed limit, and you suddenly see a moose crossing the road ahead of you.
- Will you be able to stop in time to avoid hitting the moose?
- What are all the factors that determine how soon you will be able to stop the car?
Record your ideas about these questions in your Active Physics log. Be prepared to discuss your responses with your small group and the class. |
