The following features make it that much easier for students to understand the mathematics: Readability: MATH Connections® is written in a friendly conversational tone that students can relate to. The Learning Outcomes are in the margins of the first page of each section in a given chapter. These alert students to the major topics. The Thinking Tips in the margins help students in gathering heir ideas and in solving problems.
About Words shows students how some words we use in mathematics relate to words they already know and use every day.		About Symbols explains particular notations and their use in mathematics.

A Word to Know and A Phrase to Know appear in the text and signal particularly important definitions. Similarly, A Fact to Know signals an important mathematical result.		The Profiles introduce students to people in various careers and professions who use mathematics in their everyday work.
