PASCO partners with It's About Time to develop eLabs for the 21st Century. This is the first in a series of many eLabs to be created for our programs. These eLabs have been created as high-tech enhancements to activities from Earth Science, Physics, Chemistry, for the 21st Century. The eLabs contain chapters and activities from EarthComm, Active Physics, and Active Chemistry. We also plan to have eLabs for our middle school Earth Science program Investigating Earth Systems. These labs were created using PASCO's DataStudio® program, and, they offer the same approach to Inquiry-based, and Active Learning that you have come to expect from It's About Time's curricula.

What are eLabs?
Computer probes and sensors are the center of all modern laboratories and are used throughout the industrial/engineering sectors. The eLabs are meant to give students authentic probe experiences that can be helpful in gaining understanding of scientific concepts and their future careers. It's About Time's eLabs have the same pictures from the 21st Century book, ask the same questions, and have the activities to match.

In addition, DataStudio® uses instant scaling of graphs and provides powerful analysis tools that can identify points, find slopes and match data to curves. The most important feature is the ability to capture students' results and responses. All student information, including graphs, can then be saved onto a network, a 1.44 MB floppy disk, or can be printed and pasted into lab notebooks. Powerful tools and flexible use allow students to access Inquiry quickly and accurately.
