Active Biology
Active Biology's chapters follow the same proven learning approach to science as Active Physics. They were designed and built on the same research-based instructional strategy that weaves together science content with a pedagogical approach that ensures increased student motivation, understanding and performance. The Chapters were derived from materials that were originally developed by Biological Sciences Curriculum Study (BSCS) and repurposed into the Active Learning format which is strongly correlated with what we want students to know and to be able to do. Active Biology, along with Active Physics, Active Chemistry and EarthComm, gives you the flexibility to create an integrated course of your choice.

BioComm
BioComm covers far more than biology. It teaches how biology connects with Technology, Society, the Environment and the student. In each of the eight thought-provoking units, a real-world issue is presented. Students conduct Guided Inquiries and Extended Inquiries. From their results, students interpret the information and apply their knowledge to the issues. Students will be working just like scientists and policy makers!

Environmental Science
Investigations in Environmental Science, places students in the role of environmental scientists. It engages them in investigations of realistic environmental problems, in which they must make recommendations for sustainable uses of resources. In the course of these investigations, students employ a variety of scientific research techniques, including technology research tools that were specially designed to help students use technology in solving problem. These tools include WorldWatcher, a visualization and analysis tool for learners developed at Northwestern University and ArcView, the leading commercial geographic information system (GIS).
